as others have said- this is a quality product. case, unboxing, design and finish are all great. Pour over with 13 grams of coffee was excellent, filter seems equivalent to 100 micron mesh size. the holes have a smooth finish and cleanup was easy, did not grab or retain paper, soap, coffee oils etc. titanium wont hold heat so the coffee slurry can cool off quicker than other methods. you may need to pour a smaller amount of water more frequently to achieve good extraction. total volume as described, just under 7oz.

The filter is much larger then I thought it would be while the cup is somewhat small at 7.4 Oz. It's perfect for the backpacker who wants an excellent cup of coffee in the back country. I like the leather case that comes with this set. Only issue I have is the lid doest seal tightly when the set is nested together, so the lid can fall off and the set scattered somewhat in the backpack if not utilizing the leather case to contain the kit. Overall definitely worth it if your into coffee or probably even for you tea lovers too.

I have been buying ultralight stuff for UL backpacking for a fews years now. I buy Ti stuff from Taobao every time i go to China. I have been eyeing on the tea and coffee maker for some times now. I'm glad it is available on Amazon now. Pros: 1) light weight, 3.7 oz w/o case 6.3 oz w/case 2) workmanship is top notch. the filer holes are so fine you couldn't tell there are holes. tea leaves and coffee grinds don't stuck in the holes (my other tea maker is not like this.tea leaves stuck in holes all the time). 3) environmental friendly - no paper filter required, less waste, 4) easy to clean. doesn't retain odor from different drinks. i.e. for tea brewing it doesn't taste like coffee since you used it for coffee brewing before. this is not the case for other coffee makers. i tried to brew tea in the hotel coffee machine, it always taste like coffee. Con: none to me

Initially I thought this was an inessential piece of gear that would only serve a single purpose, and I prefer my gear to provide multiple functions to qualify for my bag.Watching some YouTuber take a stainless steel coffee filter to fashion a make-shift water filter in the wild inspired my rationale that I could justify spending the $$$ to round out my gear selection with this bougie bushcraft bling!I bring this with me to work, the wild, and restaurants even since the quality of tea & coffee seems absent while dining out anymore. I am definitely getting my money’s worth!ALSO . . . I was prepared to be bummed about the “leather” case being pleather, as others have suggested; but they’re wrong. This is a really nice grain of leather in fact. Quality gear through & through. Worth every penny!

Can't go camping without your Keith gear, worth it

Absolutely awesome piece of kit. love that it nests inside itself. Best travel coffee kit I have owned. I get such complex flavors, vs various pourover sets I own. I've tried alot. As well as moka pot,french press etc. Awesome extremely compact but makes a heck of a pour over. Highly impressed!! Only thing I could think of that would be a negative would be if it made a bigger cup. But it just gives me an excuse to make multiple pour overs throughout the day. 😉

This product worked just as expected. I would only reccomend buying if you plan to use it regularly, otherwise I am not sure it would be worth the price. The case is a nice bonus for transport, however it is definitely not leather. It looks nice, but it is vinyl with a microfiber lining.

If you can swallow the price, this is just a brilliant piece of kit. I use mine for coffee and tea at work, and then take it on the go when I travel or camp.The size and shape of the cup itself is perfect. It's slightly less insulated than my 300ml insulated ti mug (ninja prepper), but still hold-able with 200F water in it. In lieu of a handle, the concave nature of the cup makes it easier to hold securely than something like a handle-less snow peak mug. The lip on the cup is wider and smoother than most Ti mugs, and has a nice feel.The lid itself needs the tri-pod nested in it in order to snugly fit on top of the cup, otherwise it's a bit loose. I typically use the lid as a resting area for the cone after brewing, but it's nice to lay on the cup to hold a little heat if you step away for something.The leather case is very nice, but it's a little over half the weight of the cup, so if you're camping, it's probably going to be left at home in favor of a mesh bag, if travelling, it's nice to have for a suitcase or bookbag.The filter for me is the real highlight. It produces an extremely clean cup of coffee for a non-paper filter, assuming you have a good grind without too many fines. The holes are the smallest I've ever seen for a filter. I really like that it's a single-layer mesh (as opposed to toaks' dual-layer) because it's much easier to keep clean. Simply rinse it with hot water to clean it after each brew. You can also put a little water in the cup, drop the filter in there, throw the lid over it and shake if you don't have hot water. I got in touch with Keith and they mentioned they are working on a standalone filter that may nest into other cups. I would be very interested in picking up another one of these with a more universal stand.If you're looking for arguably the best travel setup for pour-over, you've found the right place. The price is undeniably hard to swallow, but it also feels like something I'll have around indefinitely and pass on to future generations. It's not something I could justify buying if I was only using it every once in a while, but for every-day use, I think it's worth it.

First off, I'll start by saying that this piece of kit is a tough bullet to bite in terms of the price, but with how essential it has been to me every single day since I have received it, I would gladly buy it 3 times over.I have had this brewer for nearly 4 months, and I have used it extensively to brew everything from Silver Needles to wild purple-black teas. I primarily use it for tea as I'm not very partial to coffee, but it works brilliantly for a beautiful cup of pour-over coffee too every once in a blue moon. The texture it imparts upon everything that is brewed in it is comparable to my pure silver teapot, although it lacks the same level of clarity; say, about half as much. The texture of the titanium cup is also very soft, as soft as the tea within it and doesn't immediately alert the mind that "Hey, this is metal" as cups made of steel might, which further makes the drinking experience very pleasurable.I am a practitioner of gong-fu cha, and although this brewer isn't specifically made for the type of brewing I usually do, it typically works very well as long as a make sure to adjust the leaf ratio precisely.I've also used this brewer as a helper for making small batches of kombucha and Jun, which it is absolutely awesome at, as it saves me the big headache of having to clean a small mouthed pot, a big strainer, etc, and makes taking care of my ferment friends a breeze.In the video and picture that are posted you'll see that have a setup of a Firebox Freestyle with an alcohol burner, a Silverant titanium kettle, the brewer (which I've now affectionately named Mug-cha), an extra cup to pour the tea in because the double walled mugwort can stay hot for too long sometimes, and my silver teapot for comparison. The tea is a strip oolong from Pheonix village brewed Chaozhou style with a bit of saffron.Overall, I've found an amazing fit for my lifestyle and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a do-it-all brewer, with a couple of nitpicks. The mug can sometimes stay hot a bit too long for my taste, and it also doesn't pour very well, through it understand it wasn't designed for that. Oh, by the way, it would also be nice if the "lid" acted more like a lid, as when I used it to cover tea a few times, condensed water started getting all over our counters.Hope you all find this useful, cheers from Florida.

Great craftsmanship and compact size with complimenting case! Ideal for an overnight bag or wherever you want to brew it up more conventionally! I like the quality and nesting.

Excellent quality, a really well designed lightweight coffee and tea maker. It’s a bit pricey but well worth it for the compact size and portability. If you can afford it, it’s well worth the purchase.

There is something about the meditative ceremony of making fresh coffee outdoors that I enjoy. Definitely not an essential for a backpacker. The double wall cup does get too hot to hold. It is nevertheless a simple, beautiful piece of engineering.

Helpful tip: While not pouring water, place the lid on top of the filter. This will help keep the water hot.

I never leave reviews, but after using this Keith coffee set every day for over a year, it's time. I love good coffee. I love taking time out of my day to make good coffee from great beans. And, I love titanium because I hate wastefulness and creating trash (paper filters, plastic pieces like the Aeropress, etc.)The good:- Incredibly lightweight, durable, and compact- Insanely high-quality craftsmanship and engineering- Heirloom item that will last forever- Makes an excellent cup when you get the grind setting right per bean/roast- The right bean/grind setting leaves very little, if any, sediment in the cup- Excellent as daily pour over at home, during travel, or outdoorsThe not-so-good:- The stand can be a little uneven/difficult to attach to the cup without the weight of the filter with ground coffee on top of it. So I've learned to never try to attach the stand first. Instead, grind your coffee, pour it into the filter, and then attach the stand with the filter inserted at the same time.- The stand also seems to block some of the filter pores, which causes a slower drip than you would get without the filter at all (you can test this by lifting the filter after you've poured water into the grounds; the flow is better than when it's resting in the stand)- You often have to lightly tap the filter with the side of the included mug cap to keep the flow rate up while filtering. I've come to kind of enjoy this, but I still think it's largely a design flaw related to the stand.- random leather case. Why would anyone buying an ultra light titanium set want a heavy leather case?Overall, even with the drawbacks, the pros vastly outweigh the cons of this filter set. I have access to plenty of other coffee brewing equipment and yet I continue to use the Keith set daily nonetheless. It's convenient, simple, and clean (both the cup it produces and how quick it is to clean up after brewing). Plus, there is something joyful in using such a simple piece of kit that produces next to no waste while still delivering a high-quality cup.

Not only as described, also very compact a must for camping fanatics and for daily usage.Through away all you mug and coffee maker, this is the only thing that you need.

This comes with a nice case, the case seems to weigh more than the coffee maker.. I love this coffee maker, it is perfect for what I wanted.. I don't take the case with me but use it as storage in between hikes..You do have to tap the cone as you add water makes a strong cup of coffee..The cone also fits on the Keith titanium tea cup sold separately, so easy to make multiple cups of coffee as lo g as your pot holds enough hot water..Was expensive but you get what you pay for..
